Pendle Blade Trailer

The increased length of blades has led to the addition of pendle suspension on a blade trailer. The hydraulic pendle suspension has increased suspension travel to raise the trailer high enough to clear obstacles. The suspension has an incredible 60 degrees of steering. This will allow the operator to maneuver the trailer in and out of very tight places. The tridem group is made as a separate sub-assembly with a low bed hookup point at the front. This allows the equipment owner to re-use the grouping in a low bed configuration.

The base trailer is offered as a 4 beam trailer that can extend from 53 ft to 160 ft. There is a 20 ft extendible bumper that will meet state requirements regarding maximum overhang. A fifth beam can be installed in the unit without any modification while still closing to 53 ft. This feature was implemented to allow the trailer to stay relevant even with the ever-growing blades.

The mobile beam is a structure that is above the fifth beam. This element is used to collapse the fifth beam into the fourth while loaded. This is particularly useful when extreme steering angles are needed or to allow the trailer to crest a hill without the middle of the trailer bottoming out.

Extending the trailer is very easy thanks to the flairs on the bottoms of the caissons and the 2 hydraulic legs. The last caisson is fitted with a top flair on the caisson to allow the operator to adjust the pitch of the axle grouping. At very long lengths, the trailer behaves like a large spring and proper shimming is critical to distribute the loading correctly.
